How to Build a Website with Algoma Web Design

At Algoma Web Design, our goal is to create a search engine-friendly website that effectively serves your customers and enhances your online presence. We handle every detail — from setup and development to launch — so you can focus on your business.

Getting Started
To begin, gather all the materials you want to include on your website, such as:

Your logo and other brand visuals

Text for your web pages

Photographs, brochures, or other marketing materials

A list of page titles and menu structure

Keywords or key phrases your customers might use to find you online

If particular keywords align with specific pages, outline this to help us seamlessly incorporate search engine optimization (SEO) into the design and development process.

Secure Socket Layer Certificate or SSL

“SSL” refers to the Secure Socket Layer certificate (or SSL certificate) and are obtained from a Certificate Authority. SSL Certificates certifies that the website is indeed located at the domain stated in the URL and protects your customers’ sensitive information by encrypting the data they send to you, then decrypting it once you’ve received it. If you have an order form where users enter their credit card numbers you must have SSL. If you have a contact form and your website doesn’t use HTTPS, a Not Secure warning with red exclamation mark displays in the address bar of the browser.

When your connection is over HTTPS, in the web address bar there will be “https://” with a lock icon instead of the usual “http://”. Google positions HTTPS-encrypted websites higher in search results helping more people to find you. Having an SSL certificate removes the Not Secure warning with red exclamation mark displayed in the browser’s address bar. Google and Mozilla mandate HTTPS-connection (or SSL) for websites that have intake forms.

SSL certificates are not only beneficial for sites with intake forms and shopping carts where users have to enter their credit card numbers, but regular sites too!

Help to keep your customers and business safe with an SSL certificate on your website. Avoid warnings saying your site’s not secure and improve SEO by showing Google your site is secure!

Using the industry’s strongest encryption technology on the market today to protect sensitive data. It protects sensitive data transmitting from browser to web server.

Boost Google search ranking and protect your customers!
